Alfred Hitchcock fashioned a stylish, heart-pounding thriller in this 1959 movie featuring handsome matinee idol Cary Grant. Grant plays Roger Thornhill, a Madison Avenue ad executive who is mistaken for a mysterious “George Kaplan”. Kaplan doesn’t exist and that spells trouble for Grant, as he is kidnapped, roughed up, and chased by a machine-gunning crop plane in a cornfield. The movie’s two spies are played by Eva Marie Saint and James Mason. The memorable climax takes place across stone faces of American presidents on Mt. Rushmore.
