In this 1960 creepfest from Alfred Hitchcock an offroad motel is the scene of some of the scariest stuff to ever send shivers down an audience’s spine. When young Marion Crane, a Phoenix office worker, absconds with $40,000 of a client’s money she seeks shelter in a driving rainstorm at a rundown motel operated by a shy young man named Norman Bates. The rest is horror history.  The movie starred Janet Leigh and Tony Pekins. Hitchcock was nominated Best Director, and Leigh Best Supporting Actress. A highlight has Leigh stabbed to death in a shower by a madwoman wielding a large butcher knife.A to Z Psycho poster 3-29-2013
