THEY CREATED THE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS WE LOVED.

EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS.

After a heart problem ended his U.S. Cavalry service, young Burroughs worked and drifted from job to job. It was while he was employed as pencil sharpener wholesale representative that he began to write pulp fiction. In October, 1912 he published his TARZAN OF THE APES. It immediately became a smash hit with young and old alike. Burroughs followed up with many more tales of the man raised by apes. Through the years Tarzan has appeared in numerous theatrical and film adaptations.
